While the tournament is running

We're there when it matters most.

During the tournament, it's essential that everything runs smoothly and works the way it should. We're used to handling many tournaments at the same time — everything from small local tournaments to the largest tournaments in the world, spread across the globe.

What they all have in common is that things need to flow smoothly on tournament days. Your participants must be able to find the right information easily, and if something unexpected happens, you're never on your own. We're always ready to help!

Cup Manager is built to make things simple for everyone in your organization and your participants — whether that's the referee, the person staffing your check-in, the team manager who wants to know when the final is played, or the person at home watching the match live. Below is a summary of some of the tools we offer.

Administration - features and overview

Stay in control and administer results centrally

As administrator (or your competition manager), you can easily get an overview of every match being played and every match that should have had its result reported. That makes it easy to spot halls or fields where you have a problem, but also to confirm that everything is working as it should instead of waiting for someone else to notice an issue. Everything is, of course, fully synchronized, so what you see is exactly what's shown on the website and on the results phones.

Enter results in the admin app or on results phones

In addition to entering results directly in Cup Manager, you can also use our admin app, Cup Manager Admin (download it here), or our results phones. Both support entering final results as well as live results — goal by goal. The admin app is a great fit for small and medium-sized indoor tournaments where the secretariat has access to a smartphone or tablet with the app installed, while our results phones can be used in any setting (outdoors, for example), regardless of how many fields you have. You rent the phones from us, and they're delivered to you before the tournament fully configured and linked to your fields, so you have less to set up.

Live results

Cup Manager supports entering results and match events live as the match is being played. This can be done either through our admin app or with our results phones, which you rent from us.

Penalties, fouls, yellow/red cards

When you use our system for live results, you also have the option of reporting match events. Which events can be reported varies between sports and depends on the method used to report results. If you're interested in the details, the best thing to do is get in touch with us with your question.

Pre-filled match cards

Cup Manager offers a range of match cards that your secretariat or referees can use to document matches. Contact us if you'd like a walkthrough and help finding the option that suits you best. The match cards are, of course, pre-filled with the matches in your schedule.

Team lineups per match

Cup Manager has a feature that lets team managers select which players take part in each match before it starts. If needed, they can also change a player's shirt number there. This makes it easier for you to administer and monitor rules around overage players and suspensions that span several matches.

Automatic result sorting for groups

All group tables are, of course, sorted automatically as matches are completed. That includes using head-to-head results to rank teams. You can also carry results over from earlier groups if you're running several rounds of group play in sequence. Automatic sorting also applies to setups such as "best 3rd-placed team" arrangements used to create an even playoff bracket. If teams come from groups of different sizes, you can compensate for the group size in three ways:

  • Ignore it
  • Divide the table results by the number of matches played
  • Remove the results against the weakest team in the groups that have one extra team
Teams advance automatically

Just like the table sorting, teams advance automatically from group play once a group is finished. If several teams end up level, the tournament organizers can decide the order using, for example, a draw or a penalty shootout before the teams move on.

Communication - features and overview

Livestreaming

Cup Manager integrates with the most popular streaming providers. Read more on our livestreaming page.

Automatic awards and medals

We believe that IT can automate features and give every team a professional experience of taking part. One example is that the system automatically calculates awards for all teams — for instance, scoring the most goals in a given class, or finishing first in a group.

Website and app are always up to date

All the information shown to your visitors is, of course, always up to date — whether they're looking at your website or your app.

Send push notifications

During the tournament, you can easily send push notifications to everyone who has installed your app. Read more about what the app offers on our tournament app page.

Favorite teams

Visitors can easily pick their favorite teams and get quick access to both teams' pages, plus a schedule of all their matches.

SMS subscriptions and updates

You can enable a feature that lets visitors subscribe to a team's results themselves. After every completed match, an SMS is sent out with the result and details of the next match. An SMS is also sent when the group has finished playing.

On-call support always included!

Don't forget that on-call support is always included with your license. During your tournament, you can always call our support line for help with any problems that come up or questions you have. That covers everything from technical questions about the system to questions about how best to handle a team dropping out at the last second, or how best to sort results.
